We envision a strong and vibrant movement for reproductive justice that supports grassroots leadership and builds collaborative, strategic, effective, and innovative approaches to social and political change. EMERJ is contributing to building this movement in five key areas:
  • Tools, Models and Resources: Across the country, grassroots leaders and groups are doing reproductive justice work in their communities. EMERJ is developing tools, models, and resources to support political education, leadership development, community organizing, and policy change for reproductive justice.

  • Training: In order to grow the Reproductive Justice Movement, EMERJ is empowering new leaders and organizations with skills, analysis, and tools for movement building. We are currently developing and testing trainings designed to meet the specific needs of reproductive justice communities including youth, low income communities, communities of color, immigrant communities, and LGBT communities.

  • Research: In order to better understand communities affected by reproductive justice issues and the capacity of communities to address these issues, EMERJ is conducting research to guide tool and training development, analysis, and strategy.

  • Analysis: In order to build a larger base of support for the reproductive justice movement, EMERJ is working to make the Reproductive Justice analysis more accessible and compelling to grassroots communities across the country.

  • Strategic Cohorts: In 2009, we will launch EMERJ Strategic Cohorts. Each Cohort will consist of 4-6 groups that are working together to impact one aspect of the movement for reproductive justice.
